Character NAME: Trucy Wright
Canon & MEDIUM: Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice
Canon PULL-POINT:  post game, good end
Character AGE: 15
Character ABILITIES: Perceivance, an ability that runs in Trucy's family. Typically it's amplified by the usage of special bracelets, but Trucy doesn't have one. Basically, the it's an ability that allows her to focus intently and pick up on nervous habits, allowing her to tell when a person is lying. Trucy is also a very skillful magician (something that runs on the other side of her family), though obviously she doesn't actually know how to use real, mystical magic. They're just tricks. Tricks she's good at.
Character HISTORY: here.
Character PERSONALITY:

Trucy's role in the story is that of a motivator. That is, she plays the role of the necessary assistant to the detective - or Lawyer, in the case of this story. When we first meet her, she is sent as a messenger by her father with a 'trump card' (a literal trump card), and some encouraging words. 'You can do it!' she says. Our first interaction with Trucy is truly a defining character moment - we see the optimistic, bright girl that she is.

Trucy has a mind befitting that of the young girl she is. That is to say, she's quick to trust, easy to satisfy, and very naive. She believes in the good in people, and is always wanting to help out wherever she can. This can often lead to shenanigans for Apollo, seeing as blindly running to everyone's aid often leads to this. They'll end up mixed up with murders, prosecutors, witnesses, panty thieves and all sorts of other wacky things. Trucy seems to take it all in stride, though. She accepts the wackiness, invites it in! After all, when you're a magician who's specialty is pulling things out of a pair of bloomers, you tend to take everything a little less serious than the rest of the world.

Trucy is also a very strong girl. You might not notice, since she's always smiling, but she has had a cumbersome life. As far as she knows, she is mostly orphaned, being adopted, and helped in the aid of her father's escape of the country. Not only that, but her adoptive father isn't exactly balling - he works as a pianist slash conman, and those don't tend to have a stellar yearly salary. But she make does! In fact, she tries her best to help out! She works part time as a magician, and helps her father manage the Wright Talent Agency. Never mind that the only clients of said talent agency were herself and her father before Apollo showed up.. Still, despite all the genuine smiles she has, she has a few fake ones, too. She can be a pretty sad person, it's just rare for anyone to see this. Her father obviously knows, having lived with her for most of her life, and he cites that she 'hides a secret sadness'.

While Trucy is very flighty and bubbly, she doesn't miss a beat. She's an intelligent and observant young girl, showing that she really is her father's daughter. Once again, never mind that she's adopted. She's able to weakly use her perceive ability without a bracelet - meaning she can pick up on people's nervous habits and twitches when they're lying. She also can hold her own in the courtroom when it comes to Trial Knowledge. She'll help Apollo out from time to time, giving him subtle hints and telling him when she feels like something 'just isn't right'. She's a curious girl, always eager to hop onto a case and figure it out. She adds a level of much needed enthusiasm to every murder case.

Trucy's naivety and proximity to Phoenix through childhood has influenced her, whether negatively or positively is up to the audience. She is rather morally grey (always white where it counts), being unafraid of being around members of the mafia and conmen, as well as aiding her father in cheating at Poker for over 7 years. She even helped her true father escape the country when she was only 8 years old. She has quite a few 'tricks up her sleeve', to say the least, and sometimes it's a little difficult to tell what she's thinking, as she's got a pretty convincing Poker face. Due to her colorful upbringing, she takes light of a lot of things and can tend to jump the gun and do things without thinking, such as speaking crassly and candidly when in the presence of crime bosses. Either way, she knows how to keep things interesting, and in the end, is a good girl, if a bit naughty.

» EXSILIUM INFORMATION
Chosen WEAPON: Playing Cards! Trucy, being a pretty creative person naturally, will be able to come up with many different positions and tricks of the eye with these playing cards, such as using them as a pistol! Obviously it'll be more flashy and probably involve lasers or something. As it grows, it'll be able to transform into more and more things, kind of one of those.. expanding with one's creativity type things. Of course, it'll grow in strength as it grows, too.
Chosen SKILLSET: Trucy is not a fighter. Her canon is a nonviolent visual novel courtroom drama. Even then, she acts as the support to the main character, an 'assistant' type of character. As such, I would not expect her to have heavy involvement in action; she'd be more behind the scenes.

First PERSON:
Ooh, I think I got it to work!  The little light's blinking. That's like the universal sign for 'working', isn't it? [ the young girl, clad in a quite.. quirky outfit peers at the camera on the device quizzically. ] That means I'm being recorded, right? Well, a magician has to keep up appearances, so! Hello, Citizens of Exsilium! My name's Trucy Wright, Ace Magician! Maybe you've heard of me! Or maybe you've heard of daddy, that usually seems to be the case. [ she bounces on her heels a bit. ] I don't really know what's going on, but while I'm stuck here, let's have some fun, okay?

Let's start with an icebreaker! [ Trucy holds up a deck of redbacked playing cards. She then spreads all 52 out in her hand. ] Pick a card, any card!
Third PERSON:

It's times when you're alone, left to your own devices, when it truly hits you.

That's how it was for everyone, right?  She felt a little relieved to know she wasn't alone in this. That didn't change the fact that it was a horrible feeling, though, to know you're an orphan. She always had the support of her father, her neighbors, her friends from various different schools.. and maybe it was a little selfish, but it wasn't enough sometimes. Yeah, it was definitely selfish, she thought. Selfish and greedy. Still, she yearned for the attention of her mother, a pat on the head by her real father. She remembered vividly all the tricks he'd taught her, and, although the memories of her mother were vague, she can still remember being cradled in her arms and smiled down at. Trucy thought that she had her mother's eyes.. not that she could remember what they looked like. She just knew. If only she could stare into a pair of familiar eyes; she knew she wouldn't ever experience that sensation.

The door creaked open. As her father stepped in, she wiped her face. She hadn't cried, but it was instinctual; her face felt wet and flushed. "Daddy.."  She didn't try to hide behind a smile. She knew she couldn't do that with her father; he was too perceptive. After all, he was a famed lawyer.. but more than that, she was her Dad. That's dad with a capital D; her guide and eternal confidant. She could take solace in that fact, to know that even if she didn't have a dad, she had a Dad. And maybe not everyone was able to say that. She was thankful.. and a tiny, rueful smile crept on her pallor face, as her Dad sat on her bed and wrapped his arms round her.
